Hackney Councils is planning to adopt a ‘nil policy’ for all adult venues. This means that the four adult venues in Hackney are at risk of closure.

It also means that around 300 people – including dancers, security staff, cleaners and bar staff – are at risk of losing their jobs. The only way to stop Hackney Council from adopting the nil policy is to organise.

When workers come together and get their voices heard they are stronger and can change not only their work conditions but also they can have a say in government policy.

• If you work in one of the venues under threat – join a union. The more union members in your workplace – the stronger our voice will be to lobby the council
